For three weekends over the spring months, we will offer classes on bondage and rope play in Riga. The levels offered are basic level – bondage, intermediate level – shibari, and advanced level – kinbaku. Introductions to Ipponnawa (一本縄) for the basic level are provided along with the classes. These are an integral part of the basic level classes; for the other levels, they are offered separately between courses.
The causes spread over 3 weekends: one in March, one in April and one in May. Allowing for practice at home between the courses.
Bondage
Basic level – Friday evenings.
This level introduces participants to safety and communication, ropes, and basic knots. It uses the knowledge from each class and takes it into play during an ipponnawa rope session which follows each class. The focus will be on the basics, and participants are invited to have fun while still getting a better understanding of bondage and opening up for play. We encourage a relaxing and playful approach where all can participate. You will get to practice the material taught and learn the basics of ropes, some basic knots and safety.

Shibari
Intermediate level – Saturday ‘brunch’ hours
Prerequisites for this course are knowledge about consensual play and safety, basic knots, single-column ties, and double-column ties.
The course will introduce participants to three main topics: hands and arms, feet and legs, and the head. It will be based on floor work, but some can be used for semi-suspension and suspension; however, suspension will NOT be the main focus of the course.

Kinbaku
Advanced level – Saturday afternoons.
Prerequisites are as for the intermediate level. You will furthermore need to know basic suspension bondage and offer proof of your level. You are expected to know and be able to tie a TK or similar gote and have knowledge of lines and safety in regards to suspension.

Ipponnawa classes
Connect with the less trained aspects of kinbaku.
We will use the ipponnawa classes to introduce knowledge and theory of other similarly essential aspects of bondage playfully. Themes will be touching aspects such as sensual, withdrawn, tight, loose, fast, slow, tactile and demanding elements, as well as mindsets and rope-acting to live out alternative joyful approaches to bondage.
Playing with ropes while leaving theory behind is just as important as it is to practice patterns and knots. It allows you to explore the dynamic with your partner in ropes.
If you’re booking the intermediate or advanced classes you will get a rebate for Satuday ipponnawa and only pay 50%
