Saturdays:10:30-13:00 (approximately)
You should bring four (4) twined natural fibre ropes, each 7-8 meter long with a 0.5-1cm diameter. We encourage you to use strong ropes such as jute or hemp, as other ropes are NOT ideal for either knots or handling, and they will be much harder for you to train with.
The pace of the class will be adjusted to the average level of participants; should you need longer, training with others from the course until shortly before the ipponnawa class is highly encouraged.
After classes on Saturdays, there is the option to socialize and catch some food and/or drink. Kate, Davis and Eli will aim to meet up for a light dinner in town after the advanced classes, and we welcome participants from all levels to join us. Building up a rope community is an essential part of the plan.
8th of March
The course starts with working on a head harness, and we train how it can be integrated into, for example, a hogtie or semi-suspension and suspension.
The participants will get three ties to choose between for the following hands and arms class in April.
After class, there is a break that we encourage you to use for training before ipponnawa, which starts at 14:30-15:15.
5th of April
In this class, we work with hands and arms in upper body ties that work for floor work but similarly can be adjusted to work in semi-suspension. The focus will be on the floor work.
The participants can choose between three ties for the following feet and legs class in May.
After class, there is a break that we encourage you to use for training before ipponnawa, which starts at 14:30-15:15.
10th of May
Legs and feet are the focus of this class. Depending on the class choice, we will work on closed-leg ties, a hip harness and open ties, or bent legs and ties that work this way. After the course, we hope you will give constructive feedback.
After class, there is a break that we encourage you to use for training before ipponnawa, which starts at 14:30-15:15.
